We decided to go to Etretat for our first road trip since it has the most unique cliffs of the French coast in our opinion. We made a little pitstop on the way.
Around noon we arrived at Cap Blanc-Nez. We ate lunch, enjoyed the view, made some areal content and headed to our next location. While Tone V flew his drone he lost connection, the drone drifted away and we spend half an hour looking for it. Eventually we found it and got back on the road.
We used small coastline roads to get to Etretat. Mainly because of the scenery and because of the cost of the highway. The roads where winding and awesome to drive on! Except for the roundabouts around every corner. After a few hours we arrived in Etretat. We went straight to our sunset location but came too late. We still managed to get some glowing skies. When we wanted to leave we got stuck. Because the water rose while we were taking pictures we couldn't get out without swimming. We were basically trapped until the next morning. After a while of discussing our options we thought about sleeping in a small cave but luckly some locals came to rescue. They knew a way to get out without swimming. In almost complete darkness we climbed our way to safety. A difficult climb with all our gear.
The image we got stuck for.

Since we were too late to check in at a camping we decided to sleep in our car. Despite the prejudgements that people often have it was a comfortable way to spend the night. Make sure to pick a great spot tho!

Sleeping in our car had more benefits to offer apart from being cheap. We parked as close to our sunrise location as possible. We woke up at 5:30 to catch the first light. Was it worth it? Absolutely! A scenery both of us had never seen before came to life. Our first sunrise was a success!
Later that day the clouds rolled in and it started raining. We explored a lighthouse nearby and searched a good camping to spend the night. Despite the amazing start we had bad luck for the rest of the trip.

We were awakened by the sound of raindrops on our tent. The weather forecast looked bad so we headed home.
